Residential Oil Tank Sweeps

Homes built before 1980 can have a history of oil heat and an undisclosed buried oil tank.  A tank sweep can search a property for hidden tanks prior to purchase.

History of a Heater Failure

Heater's, boilers and other HVAC equipment breaks when you are using it.  Requiring a FAST REPAIR or REPLACEMENT.    If the unit cannot be repaired, whip out your checkbook or credit card.  You can live without ac, but no heat, that is hard and if it gets cold enough pipes can freeze.   Replacing the heater is thousands of dollars and an unplanned expense.  If you have oil heat and the heater dies, and you want to convert to natural gas and you want to save money, Do Nothing with the Oil Tank.  Happens all the time as no heat is an emergency and a municipality will allow an HVAC company to install a heater fast and even before a permit is approved.  The tank gets lost in the process.

80% of Aboveground Storage Tanks (ASTs) we remove have not been used in years, a perfect example of someone saving money by not addressing the oil tank.  No AST as not too bad, if those tank leaks maybe you will spend $10,000 to cleanup an oil-soaked basement.

But when an Underground Oil Tank leaks, well you could spend $40,000. Actually, the photo below was a $52,000 remediation.

We have decades of experience scanning and removing tanks.

Oil tank due diligence

We have removed tens of thousands of tanks and are licensed in 3 states.

When we find a tank, you can get costs to remove it which you promptly give to the owner of the property. You see when we find a tank it is typically a Suprise to all parties, but the owner now has to spend money to remove a tank 24 hours ago they didn't know they have.  If a settlement is involved, well you better push that back a month or longer because permits are required and can take weeks and soil samples from the tank removal, take about 1.5 weeks to be completed.

We can provide a written estimate for a tank sweep within 5 minutes of receiving pertinent information.
