Aboveground Tank Removal
Oil heat was and is popular in Delaware. Natural gas lines were not readily accessible or affordable for home heating, so oil tanks were a natural substitution. In realty natural gas did not become popular until deregulation of the gas industry in the 1970's. So oil or propane were your only choices until that time.
But oil was used well after the 1970's. The photo below is a home built in 2004, which used a 1000 gallon heating UST. The average lifespan of tank today is about 20 years so removing this tank in 2022 was prudent.
The photo below is from a bank building on Dupont Highway. Although gas is now present on the road, it was not utilized as a fuel source for the bank. A sale of the property triggered the tank removal.
We have close to 30 years properly closing tanks.
